Michelle Schlesinger, MOT, OTR/L, CSRS, CFNIP is a dynamic and forward-thinking occupational therapist
and certified yoga instructor with a strong commitment to healthcare innovation and veteran-centered care. Since 2018, she has served at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, FL, where she plays a key role within the Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Program and serves as an active leader on the Veterans Experience Committee.
Michelle brings specialized expertise in functional medicine and physical rehabilitation, blending clinical
excellence with integrative, evidence-based strategies that enhance patient outcomes and quality of life. Her approach is rooted in compassion, creativity, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of the veteran population.
A recognized innovator, Michelle leads the integration of virtual reality (VR) into occupational therapy treatment and hospital staff training, with a focus on initiatives like “Moments That Matter”—designed to elevate provider empathy. Since 2021, she has been actively involved in VR research and implementation, helping to shape the future of immersive therapeutic interventions. Michelle is a proud graduate of Nova Southeastern University and a member of the Alpha Eta Honor Society. Her work reflects a deep passion for empowering individuals through meaningful, transformative care that bridges traditional practice with cutting-edge innovation.
