Dr. Jennifer C. Reneker
Jennifer Reneker is the Associate Director of the Clinical and Translational Research Institute at NEOMED and a Professor in the College of Medicine. Her research focuses on innovative, state-of-the-art preventive, diagnostic, and rehabilitative therapies for neurological conditions. Primarily, these efforts have been directed towards the advancement of evidence-based strategies for concussion. Most recently, she has worked with a multi-disciplinary team to develop an innovative application using immersive virtual reality (VR) and a novel artificial intelligence classifier to provide decision support in the diagnosis and management of concussion. Her work has been continuously funded since 2018 through Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and through several state entrepreneurial and innovation initiatives. Jennifer is versed in diagnostic accuracy, psychometric evaluation, validation, and verification methods for clinical measures and devices. Dr. Reneker has robust experience with teaching and mentoring graduate and post-graduate learners in evidence-based practice, innovation, and research methods through academic coursework and as the principal investigator of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded training program.
