David Beach

Drury University

David Beach is an architect and Professor of Architecture at the Hammons School of Architecture at Drury University. Specializing in digital design technology, David is an advocate of full digital immersion as part of a traditional design process leveraging technology to inform process, collaboration to expand upon results, and precise decision making through analysis. David teaches in the architectural design studios (building scale), the Center for Community Studies (urban scale), and both the introductory and advanced digital design technology courses (virtual scales). Recently, David’s research work has taken architecture into the world of healthcare through the process of Virtual Reality, creating “docummersion” experiences for kids to escape the confines of hospital rooms to promote healing and recovery.
